This product is now discontinued

The Ruark R2i was discontinued in November 2014 and was replaced by the Ruark R2 MkIII. The MkIII loses the iPhone dock but instead replaces it with Bluetooh connectivity built in so connecting to your iPhone or any other Bluetooth device is now completely wireless.

We've still got some ex demonstration units left in stock of the R2i which we are selling at discount. All our ex demonstration models are in immaculate condition and as always you'll have 14 days to try it at home to ensure you are 100% happy with the condition. Why not get yourself a massive bargain whilst stocks last?

Product Description

The Ruark R2i was built on the success of the R1 radio and essentially took the same quality components and added two things. The first was an extra speaker to give stereo sound, and the second was the addition of an iPod/iPhone dock. With some tweaks to sound introduced a couple of years ago, this radio/dock has been a firm favourite in our stores and continues to dominate the market in the UK.

It's not just that it has great sound, it's also the quality of the build and of the finishes. There used to be a premium for the Midnight Black and Dream White finishes but as of September 2013 Ruark have at last bought the pricing into alignment so you can get whatever finish you want without paying extra. We are particular fans of the Midnight Black finish - its highly lacquered and looks beautiful.

Theres a choice of three tuners - FM, DAB and DAB+ (essentially the same as DAB but with a few additions). All sound great although if you have a good reception then FM has the edge. The dock itself is easy to use - just place your Apple iPhone or iPod into the dock and enjoy. You can control the iPhone through the remote provided or directly. The iPhone will charge itself whilst in the dock too.

With the addition of the new iPhone 5 and the lighning connector you will need to purchase an Apple adaptor to connect to the Ruark which only comes with the older 30 pin adaptor. However, you can purchase the Lightning Adaptor Support (or LAS for short) to keep things stable as the addition of the adaptor does make the phone a little unstable whilst docked.

On the back you'll also find an analog input and an output. With these you can connect other devices together, whether you want to play back or record.
