There's a lot to get your head around with the new Denon AVR-X7200WA receiver. At the highest level it's of course an AV receiver capable of driving pretty much any speaker pack you want to throw at it - whether you've got five full sized speakers or an incredibly 11 satellite speakers and 2 subwoofers (or anything in between). Whatever it is, the Denon handles it with aplomb and delivers sound quality that is simply jaw dropping.

It is however the extra features that are buried within that really bring things right to the forefront. Sound is covered on every angle with HD decoding and Dolby Atmos, Audyssey at the highest level possible and a set up mic to make things easy. Video however is equally well covered with three HDMI outputs all upscaling to a maximum of 4K 60Hz (or if you prefer 1080p!).

Those triple outputs are there for a reason, because this receiver can be configured in a huge variety of ways to provide multi room functions - fancy a second room? Or maybe three zones of music choosing whatever source you want? This receiver is incredibly adaptable and will suit most needs pretty simply.

There's a scary number of inputs too, more than we know what to do with, so whatever you have to play back it will handle it. We think you'd struggle to hit the limits on this receiver on any front!

Finally don't forget the wireless internet connectivity too - simple and straight forward to set up, you'll be able to access online services as well as streaming your own content from around your home.

With all this the AVR-X7200WA is likely to be the only receiver you'll need for a very long time. Outstanding - and premium - it does the lot.

AVR-X7200W and the "A" upgrade

This unit initially launched as the AVR-X7200W but didn't have an HDCP2.2 chip in it meaning it wouldn't work with the latest 4K formats. Denon responded by creating the "A" upgrade - a physical card that could be fitted into the AVR-X7200W by a qualified Denon engineer.

All AVR-X7200WA have had the "A" upgrade fitted, but if you purchased one of these receivers before June 2015 it is likely that it doesn't have the "A" upgrade. Worry not - you can get an "A" upgrade fitted by Denon! See our links below.
